Originally released in 1990, the RC10 Team Car was an upgraded version of the RC10 Championship Edition (6011) released the same year. It was the most advanced 2WD off-road racing buggy of its time and the first RC10 to feature the Stealth ATC Transmission, hard-anodized shocks with PTFE coating, and updated suspension geometry.
At the 1990 Off-Road ROAR Nationals, Team Associated achieved a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finish using these new parts. Cliff Lett took first place, as expected, while Brent Wallace and J.D. Beckwith surprised everyone by finishing 2nd and 3rd during the first race using the new Stealth transmission! Racers worldwide reported similar successes after upgrading their RC10s with the Stealth transmission. Later, many of these innovations became part of the RC10 Team Car kit.
