By lifting the center pumpkin by nearly an inch compared to standard straight axles, this truck breezes over jagged rocks that would normally hang you up. To handle the increased torque, the portals are packed with all-metal gears and secured with six screws per housing for bulletproof durability. Paired with the revolutionary Stealth X gearbox, you have the ability to independently adjust your front and rear drive ratios (overdrive) using the included gears, giving you incredible control and a tight turning radius on steep inclines.

Because portals use a series of smaller reduction gears at the wheels, they generate a lot of torque and friction. We highly recommend using a high-quality marine-grade or specialized RC gear grease on those all-metal portal gears during the build. This not only extends the life of the gears under heavy load but also provides a watertight seal against the mud and creeks you will inevitably be driving through!
